My parents are divorced. My father abused alcohol and would yell and insult my mom and me. They argued all the time. They were married for 16 years before the divorce. The main reason for the divorce was an argument my father had with me during which he hit me in the face. My mom kicked him out of our house. Since then, I’ve been living alone with my mom for several years now. From time to time, my father comes over, apologizes, and says he’s changed, etc., but my mom always brushes him off. He came over last night, too, but it was already late, so my mom said she’d handle him and that I should go to sleep. So I thought she’d brush him off like always, but during the night I heard her moans through the wall. Then my dad’s voice. And I figured out they were having sex. I was lying in bed and heard my mom moaning with pleasure; muffled but clear enough to make out her words came through the wall, and I could still hear her saying: “I love you, I always will.” “I’m yours, only yours.” “Yes, I’m still your good little wife—harder, fuck me harder,” etc., and my father saying similar things. It went on for quite a while, and my stomach was churning, and I felt like throwing up. I don’t know what to do; I feel like my mother isn’t on my side after all.
